Meat Mixture:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup onion flakes
- ½ tsp garlic salt
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp shortening
- Flour to cover meat balls
Mix beef, eggs, onion, garlic and salt. Shape into approximately 30 - 1" balls. Dredge with flour and in large frying pan brown on all sides in shortening. Remove from pan.
Sweet & Sour Sauce:
- 6 tblsp ketchup
- 6 tblsp brown sugar
- ¼ tsp dry mustard
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ cup vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tblsp soya sauce
- ¼ tsp ginger
- ½ tsp garlic salt
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tblsp corn starch
- 1 small can crushed pineapple
Mix dry ingredients well. Stir in wet ingredients. Put into fat in fry pan and stir until thick and boiling. Return meat balls to pan. Cover and simmer for 18 minutes.
Makes approximately 30 meat balls.
